It gets its name from the distinctive orange stripes that appear on the skin of ripe red cherries. Farmers noticed these unusual cherries growing on certain Red Bourbon trees, began separating them, and found that they produced a notably different cup. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe variety is still relatively new and its exact genetic background is not fully understood, which makes coffees like this particularly interesting to explore. This lot comes from Finca Santa Barbara, a 14 hectare farm in La Marquesa, Sotará, where Striped Red Bourbon grows alongside varieties such as Pink Bourbon and Geisha under native shade trees.
